Engine & Transmission
Powering this C10 is a Redline Performance Engines LS3 crate engine producing 525 horsepower, combining modern performance with everyday reliability. While the engine is thoroughly contemporary beneath the surface, it has been thoughtfully dressed with vintage-style small-block Chevrolet valve covers to maintain a classic appearance. The engine bay itself is a work of art, earning the nickname "the jewelry box" from Dave Kindig thanks to its painted engine, hidden wiring, smoothed firewall, fabricated inner fenders, and meticulous detailing. Power is delivered through a TCI-built 4L60E automatic transmission, creating a drivetrain that's equally comfortable cruising the highway or turning heads at any show.
Chassis
Built on a Jim Meyer Racing Products chassis, this C10 benefits from modern engineering without sacrificing its classic truck character. A C4 Corvette independent front suspension dramatically improves handling and ride quality, while a Currie Ford 9-inch rear axle with 3.55 gears provides durability and dependable performance. The chassis was designed to offer contemporary drivability, giving this classic pickup the confidence and comfort of a modern performance vehicle.
Body Modifications
Although the truck began life as a 1972 Chevrolet C10, nearly every component was rebuilt or reimagined during its extensive restoration. Only the original cab, title, tailgate, and sourced front sheet metal remain from the original truck. When the project arrived at Kindig-it Design in late 2018, it underwent a complete teardown before receiving extensive fabrication, body modifications, paint, and final assembly. The exterior showcases countless custom touches, including a shortened and frenched Camaro front bumper, custom front and rear roll pans, a smoothed firewall, shaved rain gutters, filled bed rails and stake pockets, and a custom radiator cover. Kindig-it flush door handles further clean up the body lines, while one of the truck's signature features is its custom raised bed floor finished in SeaDek. First introduced on Bitchin' Rides, the innovative bed design has since inspired countless custom truck builds, becoming one of the truck's most recognizable details.
Paint
Finished in Porsche 590 Mars Red, this C10 strikes the perfect balance between classic styling and modern sophistication. The vibrant red finish accentuates every custom body modification while highlighting the truck's crisp lines and flawless panel fit. Combined with the extensive bodywork, the paint gives the truck an unmistakable presence from every angle.
Interior
The interior blends luxury with craftsmanship through a custom cabin trimmed in rich baseball glove brown leather and Alcantara by Rod's Custom Upholstery. Custom bucket seats, a full-length center console, and a smoothed dashboard create a refined yet purposeful environment. Dakota Digital RTX gauges provide modern instrumentation while maintaining a classic aesthetic, and billet Vintage Air controls seamlessly integrate climate control into the dash. A hidden JL Audio Bluetooth sound system delivers premium audio without distracting from the clean interior design, making the cabin every bit as impressive as the exterior.
Wheels & Tires
The truck rides on Billet Specialties Top Loader wheels measuring 18x8 inches in the front and 19x12 inches in the rear. Wrapped in Pirelli performance tires, the combination provides exceptional grip while perfectly complementing the truck's aggressive stance. Widened rear wheel tubs accommodate massive 355/30ZR19 rear tires, giving the C10 its unmistakable muscular appearance while maintaining excellent street manners.
